It's always a fool's errand to try to draw 1:1 comparisons between historical phenomenon and the present day, but I feel like this makes a compelling case for at least a continuity of attitudes between the modern American right and the right (or at least anti-Dreyfusard contingent) of the Third Republic. I will note that any comparison between the contemporary left (or at least anti-Trumpers) with the Dreyfusard faction definitely does not work out to the benefit of the former.
